save the streamed video with VLC Media Player

This lightweight yet super powerful software can save the streamed content . For more advanced users, VLC Media Player even offers the ability to stream Web multimedia content. WMV stream, MMS, HTTP: nothing can resist him. Here are the steps to complete this operation. Caution still some videos freely available on the Internet is still protected by copyright . Ask in advance about the nature of the video.

1. The first operation, the most complicated, is to identify the video stream you want to capture. To identify them, run the video using a media player and go to its properties by right clicking. The URL of the video should appear on the screen. If it does not work, you can also view the source code of the page (Ctrl+U) and search for multimedia extensions – Ctrl+F and search terms WMV , MMS , RSTP , etc. – to quickly identify the address video.
2. Once the address is captured, open VLC Media Player and click “Media”> “Open Network Stream” (Ctrl+N). Paste the address of the video stream in the field provided for this purpose.
3. Click on the arrow to display the menu. Select the “Convert”.
4. The “Convert” you can choose the destination of the video. Remember to manually fill the file extension – this can be MP4, OGG, TS, ASF, etc.. Check “Display the output stream” to enjoy the preview of the final result. Next select the conversion profile you want to use from the list. Note that you can record only the audio stream multimedia content by opting for the profiles “Audio”.
5. VLC Media Player indicates that content is broadcast. The software is also in the process of encoding the stream and save it. To stop recording, simply stop reading or close VLC Media Player.
